I grew up in rural Tennessee with little access to art, however, with the creation of the Internet, art/painting became attainable. It wasn't this weird "thing" that people were born knowing how to do. Painting is a learned skill. Of course, I got married and had kids before I realized I could actually learn the skills, so I had to balance family with my art education. Moving twelve times due to my husband's USAF career, brought wonderful opportunities for painting as well as many pauses in my work. My husband has now retired; our kids are grown, and we are currently living in Philadelphia. I love painting and I love learning. I continue to study and attend workshops across the country.
